RENEY RAY

Born and raised in Kapuskasing, Ontario, and proud of her roots, Reney Ray is a French-Canadian artist making waves on the cultural scene with her songwriting talent in both French and English. The artist produced and released her debut album, "To What We All Become," in 2014 under the name Bloodstone and Ray. This 14-track English album made its way from Canada to the ISC (International Songwriting Competition) in Nashville, where she reached the semi-finals. In 2018, she co-produced and released her self-titled debut album in French, including the hit "Le monde est con," which reached number one on numerous radio stations in Canada. She received her first nominations for her work at awards shows across Canada and came back even stronger in 2021 with a second French album entitled "À l'Ouest du réel". Nominated for Francophone Artist of the Year for five consecutive years at the CMAO Awards (Country Music Association of Ontario), she won the award in 2022, 2023, and 2024. Also nominated twice for Francophone Songwriter of the Year at the Canadian Folk Music Awards, Reney won the title in 2022. She also won the Public's Choice Award at the Trille Or Gala in 2023 and 2025, where she also received nominations over the years in the categories of Producer, Country Artist, Artistic Initiative, Export Ontario and Web Presence.
Reney has performed on stages across Quebec, Ontario, and New Brunswick with her own musical project, including at Festivoix and the Festival international de la chanson de Granby, opening for 2Frères, Roch Voisine, and Alexandre Poulin, and performing in showcases at Canadian Music Week in Toronto, the International Folk Alliance in Kansas City, the North East Regional Folk Alliance in New Jersey, and the FrancoFête de l'Acadie in Dieppe, New Brunswick.
The singer-songwriter and producer has also written for several artists such as 2Frères, Martin Deschamps, Ricky Paquette, Guillaume Lafond, Geneviève Jodoin, and many others. In April 2024, Reney produced and released a third French album entitled "L'Album Temporaire," including the singles "Cobaye" and "Le Scalper." Reney is currently working on an English project scheduled for release this year, while expanding his production skills for other emerging artists from Quebec and Ontario.
